Fashion Prophesies
Mwahahaha! I am really excited for this feature. I will be occasionally adding NICKI'S FASHION PROPHESIES!!! I will be predicting fasion and beauty trends that will be blowing up and becoming more mainstream within the coming season. Take it or leave it, love it or hate it, these are the things I'm crushing on and think the world should adopt a liking to for Spring/Summer 2015!
1. Strappy back anything. Bras, dresses, shirts, everything. Make it macrame, elastic, DIY or store bought from Urban Outfitters, Forever 21 or Fabletics, to name a few who have taken a liking to this style. Then, get yourself a couple open back shirts and rock this all summer!
2. Boho hair accessories, specifically jewelry "crowns" made of chain, and of course, flower crowns! Dreamy and unique. Wear these to those summer festivals, the beach, anywhere! I also adore these gold twig hair pins.
3. Okay, this one is a little crazy, but I love it and plan on doing it ASAP. Half Head Corn rows!!! If you want to jump on board with the half shaved trend but don't want to fully commit, this might be the perfect alternative for you. Or if you're me, do both.
4. BLEACH DYE. I am in LOVE with bleach treated clothing lately! Also, tie dye, but not the cheesy rainbow '70's tie dye, I'm talking about the one base color, and one lighter or darker color.
5. Unique shoes! Strappy gladiator sandals. The more straps the better. I am on the lookout for these. Also, I am crushing real hardcore on a mysterious myth called "sandal booties" that are extremely difficult to find.
6. Kimonos. Okay, this one is duh. If you haven't already jumped on board with the kimono wagon, the time is now.
7. My personal favorite, THE NON-STYLE. I have been rocking this for years. It's a lazy "let your hair do whatever the frick it wants, neglect trimming it for a little longer than you should, bleach the ends, bleach streaks, throw braids in random places, slap on some product and let the wind style it on the way to work" kind of style that I truly adore. It's my spirit animal, my soul mate, my secret keeper......it's my big hair. *disclaimer* I wash my hair every day. Which I have heard is actually not good for it. Just wanted to throw it out there that this look doesn't mean be nasty.
8. Henna and/or metallic temporary tattoos. Yeah. I just love everything about these.
There you have it, folks. My prophesies for Spring/Summer 2015. Give me a fistbump if they turn out to be right, and don't send me hate mail if they're wrong. But more importantly, choose to rock things that make you smile. "True style has no fear."
