Boho on a Budget spring is here

Hey guys!

So, I've been really excited about doing these posts since Nicki and I first started our blog. I think it's important to widen our horizon on how women can maintain or build a cute bohemian wardrobe while keeping the outfits affordable and versatile. It took me forever to realize that I can switch clothing items around to suit different styles and outfits.

My biggest advice I can give to people trying the "boho" look: don't be afraid to try new things!! The bohemian lifestyle is all about breaking the "rules" and listening to your heart. There are so many types of "bohemian" styles too, that really, there are no limits.

FLOWER POWER

Florals are HUGE this spring season (obvi). And this outfit is inspired by the flower-love-child vibes and a cutesy attitude that spring can bring.

Now, I will definitely say that not all floral patterns are awesome or flattering, so it's all about finding the right pattern. I just so happened to stumble upon this cute baby-doll, tent shaped dress at an awesome boutique (& currently, my favorite boutique) in Little Rock, Arkansas called Fringe. If you live in Little Rock or make a trip there, you really should pop into Fringe. They've got sooooo many affordable & fashionable clothes there! Every time I make a trip back to my home town, that is where I go to shop. Plus, it's local so you should definitely support that.

What I love most about this dress is that it's super cute on! It looks big in the picture, but this is actually a size small--it's supposed to hang on you, which can be super intimidating to a lot of people, but I'm here to say that you shouldn't be scared of a tent dress!! This baby doll look can be flattering on a lot of people, whether you think so or not. It's a style all on it's own that is reminiscent of the 60's.

Floral Dress : $52.00

The shoes are straight from Target, ya'll. If you haven't already woken up and smelled the coffee that Target is a gift from the Lord, then you need a reality check because it IS. Target can be a gal's best friend when you can't slap (or don't want to put down) a couple of hundred of dollars at Free People or Urban Outfitters because they are highly aware of the trends of the seasons. They know what's up. You can definitely find tons of clothes, shoes, and accessories that have been mimicked from higher end stores. They are constantly in the know with their fashion.

Shoes : $34.99

I love Free People shoes (and I know you do too), but they're soooo expensive.

These babies on the left are $198.00! And you can get similar shoes at Target for under $40.00! What the WHAT?! That's such a huge difference and goes to show that you really can find shoes for a more affordable price while still being cute and fashionable.

The flower crown and the retro, round shaped sunglasses are fun accessories that can turn up the notch on any bohemian inspired outfit. Pretty much everywhere you turn, you can find these bad boys. Also, heart shaped sunglasses are coming back with a vengeance, and you can find those a lot of places too! Claire's (don't be fooled, you don't have to be a teenager to enjoy the affordable prices Claire's has to offer) has a lot of options in both flower crowns and sunglasses for cheap!

Flower Crown : $7.50 and Sunglasses : $8.00

Flower Crown : $7.50

Sunglasses : $8.00

Floral Dress : $52.00

Strappy Heels : $34.99

Total Cost : $102.49

This outfit is SUPER simple and easily translatable--you can find similar pieces to these anywhere you go, which makes it great for women to imitate this look to match their body type. A woman knows her own body best, but that doesn't mean she shouldn't take some risks every now and then! And technically, there's only two major focal pieces of this outfit which are the dress & shoes--how easy is that? You can literally throw it on and look adorable.

You can wear this dress with leggings to make it more comfortable for you and you can use those shoes for a TON of different outfits. You can dress this outfit up with some heels or dress it down with strappy sandals or spring booties.

Be bold, be brave, be boho! Flower power all the way!

Love and Stay Magical,

Sam
